left navigation panel in NWBC 3.0 PL8 disappears

Former Member

Hello,

I am facing a weird thing:

When I log on to NWBC 3.0 PL8 (Desktop) the left (blue) navigation panel is not there anymore.

The problem is independet from the user and the system. When I log on to another PC with my user (independent of Dev or Q-System) the navigation panel is visible again. When another users logs on at my PC the navigation panel disappears as well.

This phenomenon is not reproducable. From time to time the navigation panel is available again. But no settings were changed.

When I log off and on again it's invisible again.

Don't misinterpret it: It's not about if the panel is opened or closed. It's just not there anymore.

Thanks and best regards,

Johannes

Johannes, Were you able to resolve this? If so, can you post an update on what the issue was?

Hello Jose,/Johannes,

With patch 10, the blue panel is shown.

There was a bug in patch 8

Hello,

we didn't analyze it yet, because the problem occured only on my PC.

Thanks for the information what the root-cause is. Sad, that this error was not found before releasing PL8!

Thus we have new big effort to pack PL10...

Best regards,

Johannes

Hallo Johannes,

I'd of corse advise testing a single patch from path 8 - 9 and from 9 - 10 on a single machine before

proceeding just to validate my findings.

Sorry that it has been an inconvience.

Hello Jude,

it will take some time before we can test PL9 and 10 (approximately June 12).

I will inform you about our results!

Best regards,

Johannes

Thank you Johannes,

If you still get the issue then open a message in BC-FES-BUS-RUN.

Did you also know that NWBC 3.5 is released?

Hello Johannnes,

Does this occur with patch 9 applied?

Hello Jude,

I can't test PL9 at the moment.

But after the installation of PL8 the left navigation panel worked fine.

Could any registry-keys be responsible for this behaviour?

Regards,

Johannes

Hello Johannes,

It might be possible that this was the cause, but not easy to tell, unless you use the sysinternals utilities.
