>If error is in IE or AE then PI alerts you can trigger. You can raise alerts from ECC system also. So, if there is any error in case of ECC system then, ABAP stack alerts will trigger.

Hi,

Suppose if the scenario is Legacy->PI->ERP

If there are any errors in comm channel or in mapping raise alerts from PI.

After reaching ERP system, if there is any error in data while posting then, raise alerts from ECC system by using the "SALRT_CREATE_API" function module which will be from ABAP stack.

You can trigger ALERTs for only ABAP stack too, just you need to add container varaible realted to ABAP stack.

from ECC point of view if you want to create ALERT--you can send an email ,may be check with ABAPER.
