Error when try to import system copy

I encountered the error below when I try to import system copy in the import ABAP step.

Hi,

Can you tel us the current version of the SAP of which you are trying to do system copy, what is a code page of your source system and R3load version using for exporting the system.

For checking the R3load version, just goto command prompt and run R3LOAD -version.

Also if you check the previous log and the current log, you error has been changed. So create the DDL statement then try to import the system. For you reference kindly go through the SAP note: Note 771209 - NetWeaver 04: System copy (supplementary note)

Actually even if I did not upgrade the r3load version, I still get the same error. Once I run the system copy import, the error will occur under the process 'Import ABAP', step 6. It will show Import Monitor jobs: running 9, waiting 1, completed 5, failed 4, total 19. It will just keep on with this screen and I'm not sure whether it is running because even I leave it to run for 2 days, the message will still remain the same. Therefore, I'm not sure actually which process is stuck as there is not much message from the log.

Just one question : What is SAP version, OS version and DB version of the source system?

Depending on this it can be decided whether you are doing a heterogeneous or homogeneous system copy.

If and only if it is a heterogeneous system copy - you need the DDL statements.

I'm doing heterogenous system copy because there will be change of OS and DB version. From Windows 2005 to 2008, MSSQL 2005 to 2008. Previously, I also tried to generate the DDL statement, however, no statement is generated. I can export and import successfully before I format the server, I also don't know what is missing or went wrong for this time.

hello,

did you check if you have any missing index in DB02 transaction in source system? If there is you can ignore the error and change the (PACKAGE).TSK file in installation directory from err to ign.

Hello,

First we should be sure that we are using latest R3load kernel file.

And it seems that you didn't install the support Edition of SQL Server. Did you install the SQL Server software using SAP SQL DVDs ? Error message suggests that you might have install the standard edition not the enterprise edition.

Does it mean that if I don't install Enterprise version, the system copy will not be able to import successfully? Does it mean that if the source system's MSSQL is enterprise version, then the target system also should install Enterprise version?

Yes, only the Enterprise Edition of SQL Server is recommended and supported for SAP.

If so did you generate the DDL statements before starting the source system export?

Do you mean that I need to generate the DDL everything I export the source system? Actually the system export is working before I reinstall the current import system. I do not know what went wrong that cause the error.
