Ports enablement for SUP and Relay server communication

Dear Forum Members,

I am integrating SUP and Relay Server in the production environment. The application runs on iOS and is on MBS method.

SUP is within the intranet and Relay Server is in DMZ.

My question is in two fold:

1> What ports need to be enabled in inner firewall for SUP to reach relay server ? As MBS communicates via 5001, should enabling 5001 will suffice or any other ports to be enabled in inner firewall ?

2> What ports need to be enabled in DMZ ? As relay server communicates to devices via port 80 ( HTTP), should enabling port 80 will suffice or any other ports to be enabled in outer firewall ?

Please let me know.

Regards,

Viju

The ports in relay server to be opened are : 80 for HTTP and 443 for HTTPS. And in SUP server you need to open the port 5001.

Hi Vijendra,

If you are using only HTTP channel you are correct. If you configure for https, then you need to open https port as well.

SUP uses few other ports, please refer @ http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.sybase.infocenter.dc00838.0200/doc/html/dre13...
