Is it necessary to establish central SLD to enable transport of PI objects?

Hi gurus,

Our team are considering to enable the transport system of PI system. Do we need to configure a central SLD? Is local SLD also OK to transport ESB and IB objects?

Regarding central SLD, you know SAP recommend we install it on SolutionManager system. However, it's tough for us to do that. So, we are going to use one of PI system as central SLD if we have to use central SLD. Which system would you suggest? Can we use QAS system?

Hi,

If your client really decided to you one SLD server as a central SLD then make QAS system as central SLD,but it does not matter even Dev and Prod system also we can do that.

But you should have to limit access to team members to perform any actions on SLD.

OR

you can go for indivdual SLD for evry environment then create trasport target and groups , trasport your product and software componets to other evnironement.
