Vendor Classifications

Hi - I have looked and not found exactly what I need so I am posting this. I have a need to capture Vendor Classification information in the user exit for XK01/XK02 because before the save I need to make a web service call to validate one of the classification fields to determine whether I block the vendor or not. Has anyone ever done this or do you know of how I can get the information when I am in user exit EXIT_SAPMF02K_001?

I used the user exit from the classification update on XK01/XK02 and exported the values for the classifications to memory and then imported them once I entered the user exit for the save on XK01/XK02.
