UDF greyed out

Hi

I am using XI 7.1 in my landscape. I want to create a UDF. But the " Create New Function" next to Functions in Message Mapping is greyed out. How do I resolve this ?

Well it could be one of this two, either you did not click the edit button or you do not have the SAP_XI_DEVELOPER role in your profile. You can check in SU01 if you have this role.

That was so silly of me. I havent clicked edit button and thats why it was greyed out.

I dont have SAP_XI_DEVELOPER under my roles in SU01, still I am able to create UDF. So I think that's not required
