Number Range Exhausted; but not updated

Hi All,

I noticed that the number range for Sales Order Document type got exhausted. I checked this with VBAK table,the latest sales order number and the number range maximum limit, they all tally.

My Question:

In the number range interval screen the current number range count is still showing that it has lot of number series left. Why isn't the current number count not updated, what could have prevented it from being updated.

Number_Key From To Current Number

1A 2400000 2500000 2400500 (why is this number not updated)

Check whether the number range has been changed from Internal to External.
