BI Cont Add On

Dear all,

Our system is ECC 6.0 EHP 5

SAP_BASIS release is 702 sp level 9

SAP_BW release is 702 sp level 9

Out of the below mentioned list, which is the latest / appropriate BI_Cont Add On release to be applied on this system?

BI CONT 7.03
SAP NW 7.0 BI CONT ADDON 7.04
SAP NW 7.0 BI CONT ADDON 7.05
SAP NW 7.0 BI CONT ADDON 7.06
SAP NW 7.1 BI CONT ADDON 7.11
SAP NW 7.3 BI CONT ADDON 7.35
SAP NW 7.31 BI CONT ADDON 7.46

SMP mentions the SAP_Basis release required for BI Content 705 is 700 and I am on SAP_Basis 702

Hi,

Yes that is right, the SMP mentioning SAP Basis 700 is the minimum release required for the add-on installation.

You can install BI Cont 705 on ERP EhP5 without any issues. We have it already on our productive systems.

Hi guys,

I'm just wondering that according to the discussion here it' s not possible to install latest BI server (BI 7.3 with BI content 735) with the latest ECC server version in the system landscape.Something sounds wrong.

EDIT: just to clarify, do you plan to intall BI content only on ECC server?

BI 7.3 will be installed on separate Netweaver 7.3 server not on ECC server.

Apologies its an NW702 ABAP system

SAP_BASIS is 702 and SAP_BW is 702.

I went through the SAP Note but it didnt mention about the appropriate Addon for SAP_BASIS 702.

The list of Add Ons which are displayed on SMP requires either SAP_BASIS release 700 or 710 and above but not 702.

Hi,

If I check the Product Definition for SAP Netweaver 7.0 EhP2 in Solution Manager -> SMSY, the Business Intelligence Technical usage type shows BI Content 705 as the latest applicable component for NW 7.02.

Please read note carefully, it states about different BI_CONT release and their corresponding Netweaver release supported. Please see extract from this note:

SAP Netweaver 7.0 (including SAP NetWeaver EhP1 and EhP2):

BI Content 7.01; 7.02; 7.03; 704; 7. 05

2. SAP Netweaver 7.1 :

See "Restricted Usage"

3. SAP NetWeaver 7.3 :

BI Content 7.35 refers to SAP NetWeaver 7.3.

4. SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EhP2 and corresponding BI Content Release :

BI Content Extension is Add-on to BI Content(e.g.: BI Content Extension 7.05 only refers to BI Content 7.05).
