Currently I have MDM 5.5 running on AIX and DB2 DB. I have a requirement to migrate this now to Oracle and HPUX.
I have been told that all we need to do in to unarchive the repository on the target system (AIX DB2) and archive the repository into the HPUX / Oracle environment.
Would this work and would any other steps be required or are they any other steps/process required for a "hetrogeneous copy"
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello Ajay
If your target system landscape has been prepared
(HP Unix version SAP MDM Server and Oracle had been installed and configured)
Generally you right, but vice versa
Archive repository on AIX(DB2) (your current system) and unarchive on HP Unix(Oracle) -(your target system)
My recommendation:
You should think about migration from SAP MDM 5.5 to SAP MDM 7.1 because SAP, generally, doesn't support MDM 5.5 anymore.
