Duplication of hostname

Former Member

Dear All,

We have installed SAP Solution Manager 7.1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise.

During installation it asked us for setting Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN).

In DNS Domain name for SAP System, we provided

ABC.companyname.com

where ABC is my HOSTNAME of server.

Now,

During SLD configuration stage, in browser it is searching for ABC.ABC.companyname.com

and failing to search. Why it is duplicating the hostname ?

In RZ10 Instance Profile, I maintained profile parameters as follows:

icm/host_name_full :ABC.companyname.com

SAPGLOBALHOST : ABC

SAPLOCALHOSTFULL : ABC.companyname.com

I have also maintained entry in etc/hosts file as: ip-address ABC.companyname.com

Why it is happening so I am not getting. Please help me to resolve this issue.

Thanks And Regards,

Ishan

Hi,

It asks for domain name. So, it should be companyname.com. You have given wrong input during installation.

Thanks

Hi,

If I use http://<hostname>:5<instance no>00/sld. It is connecting to SLD

But when I link sld through SOLMAN_SETUP it is opening http://<hostname><hostname><companyname>.com:5<instance no>00/sld. and giving error: Diagnosis the connection.

Please help me to correct this problem.

Thanks,

Ishan

Hello,

Based on (incorrect) input you provided during installation for FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) SAP (Default) profile parameter (RZ10) SAPFQDN must have been defined in your system.

Change that parameter SAPFQDN to the correct value as indicated by other members and ensure SAPLOCALHOST parameter is defined with value: $(SAPLOCALHOST).$(SAPFQDN).

Retry what you were doing and please post the result here.

Hi,

AS far as I remember, SAPInst asks for the hostname and the domain name seperately.

From these two inputs it constructs the FQDN to be used by the SAP Apps.

hostname + domain = fqdn

Ideally you should have given only 'company.com' when asked for domain name.
