how to set URL to run webdynpro application?

Hi experts,

I have created a webdynpro application but when i clicked on execution button it gave me the following error.

Windows cannot find ' ://:/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zsaptechnical_demo '.

Make sure you typed the name correctly , and then try again.

i searched on google i came to know that the initial path is missing i.e; the http:// hostname...

but dont know to to set this its not allowing me to change .

or

is there any other way to run my application where i can pass my URL.

Hi ..

Are you executing application from se80 only?

are you able to test standard components? if not, activate the corresponding services in SICF Tcode.

initial part of url is hostname://domain name..

://:/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zsaptechnical_demo '.

HI,

I am executing the application from se80.

i went i SICF but i dont know where i should do the setting so that my http:// host name will get displayed along with

/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zsaptechnical_demo.

my host name is Default_host and it is HTTP service.

so ideally the path should come like http://default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zsaptechnical_demo.

i know only the following which are active.

are there any more to b checked.

Hi,

The URL will be like this http:// host_name /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zapplication.

You can that host_name in SICF,run SICF ,in GOTO->Port information ,you can get the host_name .

Then goto run type drivers ->etc->hosts open in notepad type your complete host address,it will come in WD application.

hi,

Thanks for yor reply.

I tried what u instructed but when i went for port information it told me ICMAN not active .

So i searched on Google what exactly is this ICMAN .

So i found that in transaction SMICM -> Goto -> services

there was not a single service in the list , the list was blank.

And one more thing i didnt got where will i find the option u wrote ---

"Then goto run type drivers ->etc->hosts".

As you said service list is empty in SMICM.

you need to active "HTTP" service.

Hi..

first check this standard component and let me know whether are you able to execute this below standard component.

Component name : WDR_TEST_EVENTS.

let me know whether are you able to test the above application or not.

And are you testing application first time in your system?

hi,

When i tried to TEST this event WDR_TEST_EVENTS.

it gave the message "COULD NOT FIND HOST AND PORT INFORMATION"

so i went on system help on that error

following message got displayed.

" The Internet Communication Manager is not active. Use transaction

SMICM to check whether the Internet Comunication Manager is active.

The Customizing settings for the host and port assignment are

incorrect. Use transactions SMICM and RZ11 to check whether the

system settings are correct.

"

Then i went to check ICM service it was De-active .it was in following node.

/default_host/sap/bc/bsp/sap/

is this the right path should i activate it ?

Yes i am testing the application for the first time.

i checked the

SAP Note : 1008689

and activated all the following nodes because i was getting following error when i clicked on

SHOW/HIDE Layout button in se 80

(Errpr in the HTML control preview is deactivated).

but still i managed to buid application by typing the ui elements

/default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro

/default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/ViewDesigner

/default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro

/default_host/sap/bc/wdvd

i also got this site and accordingly i activate all the nodes requiered for webdynpro.

Moreover,and remaining settings like FQDN have to do by basis consultant. please discuss with him.
