Hi to all,
I have collection of data like names and corresponding descriptions.
so this data i want to display in view using dropdown like name as dropdown item and description as tooltip for each item.Is it possible this requirement in 7.0 or not?
Regards,
nari.
Hi Nari,
I guess that's not possible. From Web Dynpro side, dropdown is only one UI element. So different tooltip cannot be assigned.
However, You can find the which dropdown item is selected and assign the tooltip at runtime accordingly.
In wdDoModifyView method, you can assign the tooltip text.
if(!firstTime){
IWDDropDownByIndex drp = (IWDDropDownByIndex)view.getElement("DropDownByIndex");
drp.setTooltip(wdContext.currentNODEelement().getATTRIBUTE());
}

Hi Nari,
Tooltip for individual dropdown items is not supported. The tooltip is for the entire UI element.
Instead, you can create a dropdown UI element with the dropdown items as:
Item1 Tooltip1
Item2 Tooltip2
and so on..
Hope this helps.
