Quotations blocking stock

Former Member

Guys,

I'd appreciate some guidance please on how to control quotations. In ECC/SCM we have a group of people creating quotations. It can be that as many as ten quotations are open (being created) at the same time. While these quotations are open the free stock is blocked by the system preventing it from being allocated to any new sales orders that are created while these quotations are open.

We need to build quotations based on stock availability, not on TRLT, but we do not want to lose sales orders because quotations are being created.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

David

Dear David Arnold ,

Check the options of Availability check for your quotation.

Alternatvely you may also find an exit during document save to stop the creation of Quotation if for the material do not have stock in the plant given at item level, provided you have only one storage location for finished goods under one plant.

Else if you have multiple plants, you will have to consider the storage locations for that plant.

We go for storage location , because in sales order, system will only check for plant stock and not storage location stock.

Hence it may confirm the qty even if the stock is say under the scrap storage location or return storage location.

Go for exit, if you do not find any standard configuration to tackle your issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi ,

Please check the availablity check you have defined for the material and also check if you have switched off the availbility check in the schedule line level.
