Hi gurus,

We are using idoc adapter in R3 side. I'm not sure when do we need to main the distribution model in BD64?

Currently my understanding is we need to create DM onlywhen we send data from R3 to 3rd party system via PI, while inbound senario doesn't need DM, correct or not?

Someone said we don't need DM if we use message control mechanism in outbound scenarios, really?

Any help will be appreciated!

The distribution model describes the ALE message flow between logical systems u2013 that is, it determines which messages are distributed to which logical systems.

For example, you can make distribution dependent on conditions that you define as filters in the ALE distribution model.

Thanks.

Is it necessary for us to create DM when we don't need the filters? It seems ok if we don't create DM in outbound scenario while using PI.

Hi,

when we send master data from sap to pi distribution model is mandatory. if we send transactional data DM is not required.

regards,

ganesh.
