We have a table of 10.5 million records that each day we update 300 - 800k records and this runs in 3-5 minutes. We also have to update the age of each record each date. The SQL script for this runs in 8-15 minutes....however when going doing an update in DI I haven't had any luck getting the row count to process more than 10k records after running the jobs for over 60 minutes!
