NF Metals - /NFM/SUM_NE_KONSTRUKTIONSGEW program

We are working to implement the NF metals process in our manufacturing company, currently in the configuration and unit testing phase. We are planning to use the /NFM/SUM_NE_KONSTRUKTIONSGEW program with SE38 for batch updating of structural weights.

We have all of our Origin Groups and NF keys configured, and we have entered test data for three end items. When we use CK11N to update the structural weights one end item at a time, both the raw materials and the metal content of purchased materials roll up when the structural weights are updated with the button u201CUpdate Struct. Weightsu201D. However, when we try to update a material with the /NFM/SUM_NE_KONSTRUKTIONSGEW program, it only updates structural weights for the raw materials.

According to this documentation,

we should be able to use /NFM/SUM_NE_KONSTRUKTIONSGEW to update structural weights for metal content of purchased materials. It states u201CThe system cumulates any existing structural weights for items in the cost estimate that do not have subitems and that are not assigned to a corresponding origin group. This allows the system, for example, to take account of externally procured semifinished products that contain a known quantity of NF metal.u201D

Has anyone else experienced this same problem, or do we possibly have some NF Metal config or master data problems?

We contacted SAP about this issue and they responded by creating a Note - 1653969 - to correct the problem. The Note has been successfully implemented and tested by us with accurate results for both raw materials and purchased parts metal content.
