Location change during forecast consumption for sale orders

Experts,

We have a situation wherein the orders coming in from ECC have a particular location (plant in the sale order line item) but based on certain rules, the forecast consumption (for the material in the order) should happen in a different location. The product is available in both locations. There's a BADI for forecast consumption - /SAPAPO/DM_BADI_CSP but not sure if this will satisfy the requirement.

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Hi,

You can not meet your requirement using BADI /SAPAPO/DM_BADI_CSP .you can try to use the standard statregy 40 for planning products.Kindly refer to the online help for more details on strategy 40.

Something like this has been attempted in an implementation I know.

What they do is, In the CIF exit they read sales order for the sale location and create a similar sales order for the forecast location (plant in your case) in the CIF exit itself. This will take care of the consumption problem. I am not sure if the withdrawal qty for sales order PGI can also be passed to the forecast location in the same exit. You can check it out if CIF enhancement is an option.

With tis option, You will also need to figure out a method to prevent the sales orders (created for consumption) in the plant from being considered for planning based on the planning tool used.

Whatever the solution you finally adopt, please share with us.
