Another CTS landscape

I need to create another landscape. I am looking for best practices here and cannot find an sap recommendations. I currently have say D1->Q1->P1

I have another project starting so I assume will need to create another D2->Q2.

Is the only option to manually enter the changes done in D1 to D2 to keep in sync? When the 6 month project is nearing end how do I get from Q2 back to the normal D1->Q1-P1 path?

You can configure through STMS to keep D1 and D2 in sync. Also you can have two different transport paths at the same time

1) D1->Q1->P1 and

2) D2 ->Q2-> P1

You just need to define the new landscape with in the current TMS.

Search on terms like Domain link, Transport Target group. this will give you some idea. There are a lot of ways that it can be done based on your requirements.

Hope this helps.

If I transport .. would that nopt overlay the D2 changes?

Yes, they will. The option would be to do manual. So anytime a change is moved from D1-Q1 you need to manually make changes in D2. Even in this case you will overwrite what's in D2. So if the idea is to keep both D1 and D2 in sync then D2 has to reflect what has been changed in D1.
