Hi
Below are some of our requirements for the managing Drawings in SAP DMS.
1. When a drawing is viewed it must load any externally references e.g. AutoCAD XREF drawings.
2. When a drawing is viewed and it is a u2018hybridu2019 drawing it must show both the raster and vector entities on the drawing.
3. When a drawing is viewed all fonts must display and print as per if in the native application.
4. When a drawing is open/load any externally reference (i.e. AutoCAD XREF) drawings are loaded into the drawing.
5. Open and edit a drawing in the drawings native application e.g. Microstation.
6. When a drawing is viewed it must display different u2018viewsu2019 of the drawing as per the native application. Some examples are:
· AutoCAD paper space versus model space
· AutoCAD viewports
· AutoCAD sheet details
Can all the requirements be fulfilled by the ECL viewer or we need the CAD integration software?
Regards
MB
Hi,
ECL viewer can be used to view the drawings but it has limited functionalities. Hence Auto CAD viewer on the respective desktop would be an ideal choice.

Hi Manish,
You seem to be right about SAP PLM CAD integration.
For detailed list of supported formats have a look into below link.

Hi Manish,

In addition to ECL viewer, you would also want to explore 'Deep View' external viewer from Right Hemisphere to meet your requirements. Deep View supports various 3D AutoCAD formats like DWF,DWG,DXF,DST(AutoCAD sheet sets).
