SPAM gets hanged with weired error

Encountered a weired issue . was trying to upgrade SPAM . infact any TR whether SAPK* or SIDK* are gettinghanged.

error throw as

BP_CHECK_REPORT_VALUES: Invalid program values found. Reason: > Variant IMPACTMRG is invalid

BP_JOB_EDITOR: Job RDDMASGL is invalid. Reason: > Step 1 contains illegal values

RDDIMPDP jobs are seen in released in cleints 000 and 500. but subsequent RDD* jobs are not getting triggered

checked R3trans - good

checked tp CONNECT SID - good, (latest tp is installed)

rfc's good

TMSADM not locked

still cant import any transport not upgrade my SPAM

Any ideas

Hi Prasad ,

Did you get response and resolution from SAP ? We are getting the same exact error when importing SPAM . If resolved can you let us know the solution ?

Hello All

Though late than never..

We have faced a similar issue and we have recreated the missing variants as per SM21 log and the import continued and finished successfully.

You have to create all the standard variants it asks for comparing other systems.

Check SAP note 449270. Please also check logs in trans directory for any error or SM21 for any error.

Logs in trans saysespecially Slog says :rddimpdp job terminated or not scheduled: please check sm27 . sm50, sm21

Actually RDDIMPDP is seen and gets executed at Sm37 but the subsequent RDD* jobs are not getting released. RDDMASGL can be seen in scheduled state and it wont get released. when you try to release manually it says operation not possible as job function is incomplete. Looks like event jobs are not getting scheduled in the import process.

Hello Prasad,

this error is quite tricky. PLease log on client 000, goto SE38 --> program:RDDMASGL --> variant:IMPACTMRG

Does it exist?

If it does not (which is the error message), please create it in all clientes where you're getting this error. (that is, create variant IMPACTMRG in program RDDMASGL).

If the problem persists, you'll have to check the entries in table TRJOB and TRBAT, there might be an inconsistency there.

Yup, Tomas is correct. You will find this error in SM21:

BP_CHECK_REPORT_VALUES: Invalid program values found. Reason:

> Variant IMPACTMRG is invalid

I created the variant (copying from a system wherein it exists) and tried the import again. But now I am getting this:

BP_CHECK_REPORT_VALUES: Invalid program values found. Reason:

> Variant DIST is invalid

BP_JOB_EDITOR: Job RDDDIS0L is invalid. Reason:

> Step 1 contains illegal values

This program does not have any selection screens, though. So now, I am stumped. Any suggestions please?

You mentioned you have an updated tp, but have you update your kernel?...

Have you check the import monitor, job monitor and tp import log for errors in STMS?

Import log hangs at IMPORT_PROPER stage
