Base unit of measure ***

Dear All,

I have a very strange situation. I need your advice..

We are using SRM 7.0 Extended scenario with Portal. While creating SC, i search a material via search help which has a UOM 'ST'. I find material in search help and add it to SC. Base unit of measure is coming as *** by default. But without searching it, if I directly enter the material code to SC, the unit of measure is coming as normal 'ST'.

What am i missing here ?

I've checked the SPRO settings for UOM's by the way, all looks fine..
