however I would like to have the descrition of the error that we get in Communication channel monitoring inot the alert..
ne idea?
If you provide the below in your long text, the container SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRLINES[] should give you what you need.
Adapter Errors:
Adapter Type: &SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_TYPE&
Adapter Error: &SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRLINES[]&

Hi Ravindra,
As far as I know, it not possible to have more variables than "Available Container Variables" using ALRTCATDEF.

Hi,
If you need description of the alerts, you should have initially used the various runtime variables available in the alert transaction.
ALRTCATDEF.
You need to create various containers like error description, error category etc.,
For communication channel alerts, you can use general CMS alerts.

I Hv used almost all variables in this list
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d0/d4b54020c6792ae10000000a155106/content.htm
however when the error is on the sender channel side (adapter engine error) then the the variables are not of much use..
so I wanted to generate alert with more description...
