Hi,

While creating other blank MaxDB database and we changed some permissions on /sapdb...Now we are not able to revert back those original permissions for the files in /sapdb.

While starting the MaxDB database i am getting error as below,

/sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli on TBI>db_state

OK

State

OFFLINE

---

/sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli on TBI>db_admin

ERR

-24994,ERR_RTE: Runtime environment error

20089,Check knldiag! Kernel died before reaching ADMIN state

---

/sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli on TBI>

And also when i check the programs status through sdbregview it says as invalid...Please let me know how to resolve this problem so that i can start the MaxDB database.

Hi Narendra,

Proceed as described in note #767538:

1. sdbverify --set_corrupted_invalid

2. In the next step, make sure that you still have the old installation

package available somewhere. When you then call SDBINST out of this

package, make sure that you select the profile 'all' in the first

dialogue. SDBINST will then perform all necessary steps to correct

the problem.

Hi Deepak,

Thanks for the reply but when i run SAPINST i am getting only option as below,

Server + Client

Client

Custom

none

I am not able to find the option you told to select "When you then call SDBINST out of this

package, make sure that you select the profile 'all' in the first

dialogue."

I tried selecting the option 2 i.e. Client as reinstall option it has resolved the software problem now it shows as Valid. But still it shows the database kernel status as invalid how to correct the same.

Database Kernel /sapdb/7704 7.7.04.28 64 bit invalid

Database Kernel /sapdb/TST/db 7.7.04.28 64 bit invalid

Database Kernel /sapdb/TBI/db 7.7.04.28 64 bit invalid

And also i tried once again to start the database but getting same error as below;

./dbmcli on TBI>db_admin

ERR

-24994,ERR_RTE: Runtime environment error

20090,Check knldiag! Kernel exited with '0' before reaching ADMIN state

Thanks,

Narendra
