Problem while installing NetWeaver 2004S - Abap Edition

Hello.

I downloaded NetWeaver 2004S - Abap Edition from the web site.

While installing, at step 16 "Post load activities", "Creating temporary license", a transparent window appears. In fact, just the border is visible plus some points.

I think I must type the license key into but I can't.

Context :

1) Pentium Mobile 1,7 Ghz, RAM of 1 Go.

2) Java JDK 1.4.2_11 is installed.

3) Graphic Card ATI Radeon X700XL.

4) Windows XP 2002 SP2.

5) No graphical problem with other applications.

6) The service "SAPDB: NSP" is running.

7) The service "SAPNSP_00" is running.

If I try "saplicense.exe -temp TRACE=2" from DOS, I have the following error :

• SAPLICENSE (Relase 700) ERROR ***

ERROR : Connect to database failed

DETAILS : DbSlConnect failed with return code 99

SQL-ERROR -10709 (check DB manual for explanation)

If I look into the dev_slic file, the error is :

• ERROR => EXECUTE on connection 0, rc=-1000 (POS(1) Too many lock requests) [dbslsdb.cpp 2908]

-> SetSapdbCA(errcode=-1000)

} DbSlSdbExecute(rc=99)

Same error is happening with nspadm account or an other one.

Context : same as above +

1) dbms_type=ada.

2) DIR_LIBRARY=D:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe\run

Not working also with : DIR_LIBRARY=D:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386 where dbadaslib.dll is.

3) Into Max DB configuration, MAXLOCKS=10000

Did you install the loopback adapter?

Could you explain me what it is? Is it a SAP product or a Microsoft Product?

For SAP, I only install with no success Netweaver 2004 Abap Edition and with success SAP GUI. But, for the last I can't used it since Abap Application Server is not fully installed.

For Microsoft, I am already connected to Internet, so no loop back should be useful?

Hi the loop back is a microsoft product. Check the loopback.htm file under the DOC folder of your installation folder.

Being connected to the internet is not matter.

My loopback is now installed and working. I checked with a ping.

When I launch this script :

The error is still "Connect to database failed - 10709". The Max DB is on line, not broken with 25 % of free space.

When I start the Netweaver processes with SAPMMC, disp+work.exe become green then yellow. Abap subprocesses such as W0 aborted with this trace :

I also increased Max DB parameters MAXUSERTASKS to 25 from 5 and MAXLOCKS to 10000 from 3000.

With Max DB running with CACHE_SIZE=10000, 519 Ko of physical is available on 1 Go. The load is up to 586 Ko on 2,5 Go. Processor is used up to 25 %.

Since I read in threads that it may be a memory corruption, I also rebooted the system. The result is the same.

Other major software including Oracle 10G2, PostgreSQL 8.1, etc. are running well. But not at the same time of course to avoid conflicts.

I also tried several times installing SAP Netweaver. No success to install Max DB from Netweaver installing program. I installed first Max DB from the installer choosing the SAP configuration (I don't remember the right description). SAP Netweaver and Max DB are coming from the same distribution given by SAP Corp.

I watch over the activity of SAP processes while installing or attempting to run with DataBase Manager. I see no problem.

When I stop the running processes of SAP (except for disp+work which is down in one minute), isgwd is making a GPF : "the memory xxxxx can't be read".

I increased MAXLOCKS up to 32 000 since it was asked into file dev_w0. Now Abap processes are working well i.e. all is green in SAPMMC.

But when launching saplicense.exe, the connection is still a problem, may I use the one of NSP or DVEBMDS00 directory.

Please help for this final step. JPD.

I did. SAP GUI is asking for a file. I created NSP.txt with this content, values coming from the registration Web site :

An error occured saying the content of the file is wrong.

If I try to install a temporary license, I have a time-out error due to the too-low value of rdisp/max_wpun_time, which has 300. I want to increase it. In documents, it is written that I can do it with transaction RZ11. But this transaction is not for maintaining parameters but profiles...

In fact SLICENSE was not working correctly because de Temporary License was not set.

First, I updated the statistics of Max DB and I increased the value of parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time.

After I could install Temporary License. Then the final license. Ouf!!! All seems to be done.
