Hi
Check the point
1) The file C:WINNTsystem32driversetcservices (Windows 2000) or C:Windowssystem32driversetcservices (Windows XP) must not include an entry for the ports 3601, 3201 and 50000 to 50030. A possible entry can be excluded by using the hash symbol (#).
Rest check the pre requiste
Cheers

Hello Partha,
-> Please check the errors in the XCMDOUT.LOG file.
-> What outputs you will get when you will run the following commands on
the database server:
dbmcli -s inst_enum
dbmcli -s db_enum
xinstinfo
sdbregview -l
xinstinfo <DB-SID>
dbmcli -s -d <DB-SID> -u <dbm-user>,<pwd> db_state
-> Please run 'sdbverify' & update with results.
-> Is it brand new installation of the database or you have ( had?)the database software installed on the server?
Thank you & best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hello Nat,
I got the below message when I ran the given command.
Error! Connection failed to node (local) for database (no dbname): dbmsrv executable not found
FYI: This is my second try to install it. During first time also, got the same error msg. After that I removed all earlier traces of NSPDB/SAP and started again..
After the first try, still SAPDB services were there. But I disabled and began the second attempt.
Somewhere some networking issue..:-(

Dear Mr. Ghosh,
-> Which command failed with this error?
-> Did you delete the database software manually?
Please keep in mind, to use the sdbuninst tool ( as pro SAP note 599129 ), when you would like to uninstall the database software.
And you need to be 'Administrator' to run the install or uninstall of the database software/instance.
If you was running installation on Windows & manually deleted the database software of the dependent & independent packages, please see the SAP note 572836 (If you've got access to OSS/Service Market Place ), the cleanup exe file attached to this note & instructions are done how to use it.
( Alternatively, if all database software was deleted on the server, you could delete registry keys
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SAP DBTech-*
and these services will disappear. After the registry entries are deleted, you need to restart PC to remove the left database services from the NT services. So the easy way is to use the cleanup tool & reboot PC. )
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
Natalia,
I did follow your guidelines and there was no issues while creating MaxDB creation issue. The only difference was the password, I gave the password as just 'admin' (without using any numbers in password).
But stuck at 17 of 24 phase(Import ABAP) with below message heading as "Reload.exe - Unable to Locate Component"
with error message as below:
"This application has failed to start because libSQLDBC76.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem".
I just used the files downloaded from sdn..Not sure where the files are missing. Please guide me.
Thanks,
partha
Hello Partha,
1)
I would like to repeat the questions::
-> What outputs you will get when you will run the following commands on
the database server:
dbmcli -s inst_enum
dbmcli -s db_enum
xinstinfo
sdbregview -l
xinstinfo <DB-SID>
dbmcli -s -d <DB-SID> -u <dbm-user>,<pwd> db_state
-> Please run 'sdbverify' & update with results.
-> Did you solve the database software installation problems?
2)
When you will run 'xinstinfo' you will get, for example:
IndepData : C:\sapdb\data
IndepPrograms : C:\sapdb\programs
If you installed the MAXDB version 7.6, please check libSQLDBC76.dll
In the directory <IndepPrograms>\pgm.
Please check that the PATH variable was adjusted by <IndepPrograms>\pgm
& <IndepPrograms>\bin.
Thank you & best regards, Natalia Khlopina

I verified for 'libSQLDBC76.dll' file under pgm folder. It is there.
ONLY THE ISSUE IS, I COULD NOT SEE ANY PATH VARIABLE SET FOR "<IndepPrograms>\pgm AND <IndepPrograms>\bin"
AS MENTIONED IN YOUR REPLY.
In environment variables, I see only the
PATH ='D:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386' and
SAPEXE='D:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386'
No other variables are set related to SAP.
