We have recently upgraded our development Solution Manager from 7.0
ehp1 to 7.1 SPS2. I have CHARM configured and am testing the
functionality in the new CRM UI. I have been able to create a "Request
For Change" and the follow on document "Urgent Change". The transport
request has been successfully created in my simulated source client (I
have set up an 801,802,803 landscape for testing). While in the urgent
change in the new CRM UI, I select "Logon To System" for the 801 system
from the Landscape Section of the change. A new window opens, then
immediately is closed. In my Internet Explorer, I see an entry
indicating an attempt to rfc to the 801 client, but I cannot find a log
or error message indicating the problem.
There must be a service not activated which is required for this.
The internet address from browser history file is "/sap/bc/ags_workcenter/ags_work_appln?CMD=CHARM_SCMA%7wsolmanwrkguiSHORTCUT&TRANS=SYSTEM_LOGON%SYS_NAME=SMD&SYS_CLIENT=801&RFC_DEST=SM_SMDCLNT801_TRUSTED&GUID=0050568600251ED0BEFCEFE13F9C03F4&"
We are on Windows 2008 and do not have SSO configured.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Barry
At the direction of SAP, we needed to add the address of our development and production Solution Managers to the list of trusted intranet sites. We use Internet Explorer and the path we followed was Tools > Internet Options > Security > Local Intranet > Sites > Advanced. You them add your Solution Manager addresses to the list. I needed my Network Security guys to do this.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Barry Keating

I tested the SM_SMDCLNT801_TRUSTED rfc connection and was able to connect and login to the 801 client. I also tested the ags_work_apph & ags_work_webgui services and was able to connect to the webgui (or to the point to enter more parameters).
I have also opened a message with SAP. They suggested I check BAPI ENH_AGS_LAUNCH_CRM. I can't find it in our system and our developers are not in today. I can't find any mention of this via google or SAP notes.
Thanks,
Barry

Dear Barry.
When I sent the question I have realized that the problem i most likely somewere else. So I did two things,
1) I have activated all services in SICF for RFC
2) I have alloved all activeX components in IE - we are using version 8.0. I have set allowed or promed.
It works now. So please try to do the same.
Regards,
Petr Syka
Hi Barry,
Please check the node in SICF if it is working fine.
Please go to SM59 -> goto the trsuted RFC connection for the dev client -> Do an auth test and check if you are able to login to th e system.
THanks,
Jagadish.
