I want to integrate LDAP as source for CUA.
What does CUA do when it receives sapUsername longer then 12 charachters?

I think that you have discovered an interesting "security feature" !
It seems that the SAP runtime just truncates the user name to the first 12 characters.

I found a SAPNote - all values longer than their ABAP field definition are truncated.
