SAP Sourcing - CSV File Delimiter in Report Extract

Hi,

is there any way we can chose a delimiter other than "," for the report extracts from SAP Sourcing?

Hi Anita,

I'm assuming you are running Report Execution Task and extracting the report. The Sourcing tool only supports extracting the report as CSV, PDF or Excel.

I guess you could extract it to CSV or Excel and change the delimiter outside of the tool. One way to do that would be to change the regional settings (from control panel) on your pc and replace the comma with the separator you want. Then you should be able to open the file in Excel and do a save as.

Hi Vikram,

thank you - so basically the answer is no unless there is manual involvement? We are talking about the extractor dumping the file onto an ftp where another system picks it up and then imports it.

Do you know if the text will be in quotes, ie. "texta, textb","textc,textd",12345 etc?

Not all text values will have double quotes. But if a text has a comma in it, the entire text will be within double quotes.
