installation of ECC 5.0 win 2003 in virtual machines vmware with MSCS

Hello guys,

We're gonna migrate our ECC 5 (win+oracle) system to a new machine. We're thinking in a MSCS cluster over 2 virtual machines of vmware.

Is there any inconvenient in this configuration? Any requirements?

Hi,

There should be no problem but don't install the 2 virtual machines on the same physical host !

This is just not recommended performance wise for a production system because I/O performance is lowered for a database on virtual machine.

Hi,

I don't see any problem in installing system in MSCS cluster on virtualization. You need to follow steps in installation guide for MSCS cluster, there are no extra steps for system in virtual environment.
