Hello Experts,

Observed that there were lot of disk space occupied by the following files.

cntrl<SID>.old and cntrl<SID>.new
path: /oracle/<sid>/sapreorg/segzy*

(around more then 100 files exists)

Flound that each file has more then 100MB disk space,

Could we delete those files to get free space ?.

How long do we have to retain the files ?.

Thanks

Malai

Hello,

Are you sure each file occupies around 100 MB ?

However, you can delete the files even older than a day. They are the files created as backup control files during any database activities such as tablespace extend activity etc. So you can delete the files older than a week, to be on safer side.

Thanks
