Hello BI world,

I have BI installed on windows 2003 desktop.. to run R3, I have to start Vmware as R3 is installed in Vmware.. In this scenario, is there a way for RFC connection..? or should I have to get BI and R3 installed on same platform..? Plz help.

Regards,

Varun.

In SM59, you need to create ABAP connection type where you need to provide target host, In Logon tab provide login credentials. This setting need to be carried out on BI and R/3 end. Before we create connection types we have to create SENDER and RECEIVER on BI and R/3 end using SALE t-code.

This basically covers creating logical systems and assign logical system to respective clients.

Hello

You can have BI and R3 on the same box or on a different box. In both the scenarios you can have RFC connections created between them.

Thanks & regards

It is not necessary that you install both systems on one box. What's the problem with your rfc connection? Not the same network? Access via SAPRouter? No rights on the remote system? ....

You can customize the RFC Connections in SM59.
