ROLL FILE OVERFLOW (032768)

Hi all,

Since few weeks, we have disconnection session, and we can see in SM21 the error "Rolle file overflow 032768" for the session.

We dont have change the system, but we now have more sap users (new plant)

This error occurs generaly during the afternoon from 02 pm to 04 pm.

We also can see in ST02 that Roll area is over 90% and an error occurs also in SM21

I have check oss notes 808607 and look for rdisp/ROLL_SHM.

It's set to 032768.

Does i need to increase the value ? or an other ?

And how, because in RZ11 it doesn't offer the change management.

Thank's for your help

The roll parameter can not be changed online but you need to change it through RZ10 and restart the instance.

Import your current profile, edit the parameter (or add if it, if the parameter is not yet in it) and restart the instance.

The profile to edit is the instance profile.

Hi Eric,

when the default is not sufficient, we typically set these values as follows:

rdisp/ROLL_MAXFS = 262144

rdisp/ROLL_SHM = 262144

As you should typically set the following parameter as well:

ztta/roll_first = 1

This new setup should be sufficient for all of your users ...

Well,

I've change values from

rdisp/ROLL_MAXFS and rdisp/ROLL_SHM from 32768 to 65536 and restart SAP.

After 1 days, ROLL AREA dont go away 52% with same charge than errors days.

All works fine now !

Thank's for your help !
