Prerequisites for the upload of project in OpenPS

Hi everyone!

We are implementing OpenPS in our customer. We had no problems with the

download from PS to MS Project. But we had some issues with the upload.

We made many changes and tried many times, and finally could make the upload

work. But there are many prerequisites we had to fulfill, that we cannot

follow here.

Specifically, we had to:

1) Set the fields Responsible and Profit center as non mandatory (we had them as mandatory, and the upload didn't work)

2) In the project profile, we had to enter a default plant (our project profiles are corporative, so they are not country-specific. Therefore, we cannot set a default plant).

Is there any way the upload can work without this? I mean, without having to set the fields Profit center and Responsible person as optional, and without having to enter a default plant at project profile level.

I would really appreciate your help in this point!

Regards!

Hello

Are you using the 'Retain in PS' field?

Can you please review point 34 from note 579761.

The OpenPS interface translates a valid combination of plant

and work center into a resource in MSP and viceversa. Therefore your

system is working as designed.

The interface accepts plant/work center or plant/work center/activity

type combinations or a personnel number as a resource.

It is necessary that these (plant, work center, activity type, personnel

number) information already exist in the R/3 system.

Please note also that:

"The personnel resources assigned to the task are created as activity

elements and the work on the resource is assigned to the activity

elements." (from documentation)
