I have been having a lot of problems trying to use PCo on Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit). I am starting to wonder if we are making a mistake trying to use this operating system. I am not trying to do anything fancy, just some data collection using OPC DA that worked fine in our 11.5 UDS environment on Windows Sever 2003.
Is Windows Server 2008 R2 a bad choice? What are most people using?
Thanks,
Mike

HI Jeremy,
Yes I had looked at that. That tells me what PCo will run on but not necessarily what the best practice is. W 2008 seemed like the best choice but when I started running into other software in the industry that does not work with 2008 (like the Matrikon OPC sniffer as one example) I started to wonder if it was a wise choice in general.
To your knowlege, are most people installing PCo on 2008 at this point?
Thanks,
Mike
We installed PCo 2.1.6 on Windows 2008 R2 to connect to a PI system. It worked fine.
Regards,
Chanti.
