Restart (??) of PI after deployment of new adaptermodule

HI experts,

i need to create a new adapter module for a standard SAP PI adapter. I wanna deploy it to SAP PI then, but deploy means using JSPM.

But there is no word that SAP PI server has to be shut down. is this correct? is adapter deployment a hot deployment?

If you are using PI7.1 or above then you don't need to restart PI for deploying adapter module and most of the java applications.

PS: SDM not available in PI 7.1 so you can either use NWDS or JSPM

Hi Alex,

You can either deploy through SDM or JSPM. It is not required to shutdown the PI server.
