Hi

I am making a NW 7.0 inst on NT 2008 DB Oracle 10.2.0.4.

When i come to "create database statistics" it fails. i see when it tries to run this command:

brconnect.exe -u / -c -o summary -f stats -o SAPSR5 -t all -p 2 -f nocasc

then it comes up with this fault taken from BRconnect.log

BR0801I BRCONNECT 7.00 (32)

BR0164E Illegal value 'brtools' found for parameter 'tape_copy_cmd'

BR0163E Unknown parameter 'tape_block_size' found in file E:\oracle\QM1\102\database\initQM1.sap

BR0163E Unknown parameter 'tape_set_offline' found in file E:\oracle\QM1\102\database\initQM1.sap

BR0159E Error reading BR*Tools profile E:\oracle\QM1\102\database\initQM1.sap

BR0806I End of BRCONNECT processing: cegyxffc.log 2011-10-11 11.49.04

BR0280I BRCONNECT time stamp: 2011-10-11 11.49.05

BR0804I BRCONNECT terminated with errors

I have changed all permission parameters for the folders. But did not help. I have also tried to make the changes in INITQM1.sap.

But then i could only remove the first fault called

BR0164E Illegal value 'brtools' found for parameter 'tape_copy_cmd'

Please help

Regards

Mark

Hi Joe Bo

But the thing i do not understand is that nobody other the installation has been makeing changes to initqm1.sap.

Also i see that it writes in the end it writes:

BR0159E Error reading BR*Tools profile E:\oracle\QM1\102\database\initQM1.sap

But i have given all permissions for that folder.

Could it be the initqm1.sap that are made wrong from the beginning?

Well, I can't know which way file initQM1.sap took till it arrived at proper location E:\oracle\QM1\102\database\initQM1.sap.

Maybe you can?

I am not sure about the BR0159E Error reading ...

It may be a subsequent fault from the lines before.

Or it may indicate even more errors in it.

Anyway, have you got another SAP system running at your site?

You could try to copy over another initSID.sap file, and edit it cautiously.

(But keep in mind that in case of copying from Unix to Windows additional precautions have to be taken!)

It seems someone made nonsense changes in initQM1.sap.

In order to get rid of the unknown parameter it will be a good idea to delete (or comment) the repective entries.

If in doubt, look at help.sap.com for correct settings.

hope this helps
