Hi,

Please find the below BI normal activities other then BASIS activities.

1) After creating the client you have to maintain the BWMANDT field in RSADMINA table as As per note 122679.

2) Create BW system user with profiles=S_BI-WHM_RFC (as recommended in SAP note 150315) and maintain user information in RSA1 t-code goto settings ->globalsettings.

3) Maintain source system connectivity using RSA1 transaction.

4)Monitoring the tRFC using SM58 transaction.

5)Monitoring the IDOCS using BD87 transaction.

6)Monitoring process chains and administration workbench rspcm/rsmo transactions.

7) Inbound and outbound queues also we will monitor SMQ2/SMQ1.

I hope it will help you.

I seem to remember having seen questions like this on a regular basis in SDN.

One of the most important competences of any administrator will be the ability to search imho.

Hello,

First of all, almost all basis activities related to ECC apply here to BI as well - For e.g. -

1. Applying all kinds of software maintenance updates - kernel upgrade, support pack upgrade, database patch upgrades etc.

2. Moving the transports to QAS/PRD BI as a basis team when BI developer creates the transports in DEV BI.

3. To analyze EWA recommendations for basis related activities - for e.g. - creating and rebuilding the indexes etc.

Then specially for BI system you can do -

1. To monitor all BI jobs on daily basis

2. To monitor process chains for e.g. RSPCM transaction

3. To check the connection to source systems , for e.g. RSA1 transaction

4. RFCs between BI and ECC can also be a part of monitoring sometimes

But all above BI special activities need a kind of mutual discussion between you (basis team) and the BI functional/development team to segregate the day to day responsibilities to decide what basis has to do or can do to assist the BI team.

Thanks

Hi,

Apart from the above tasks, you might also want to check the following activities.
