Hey all,

during the installation process of NW PI i got different errors. I could solve all error and going on, but now im stuck in an error message im not able to solve.

The error message is the following:

What is your OS platform?

Try to simply retry the installation process.

Hey Aleh,

thanks for the quick reply. My Operation System is Windows Server 2008 R2. Atm i redo the installation. As fast as i know i report whether it was successful or not.

If "retry" operation will not help you - read sapnotes https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1486772 and https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1480785.

You need to use a modified kernel DVD for 2008 R2 installations.

Ok. I managed to replace the files SAPEXE.SAR and SAPJ2EE.SAR in the DBINDEP directory. There was no SAPJ2EE.SAR file in my directory so i just moved the file to that place.

And 2nd i replaced the SAPEXEDB.SAR in the folder DB2.

I restarted the installation but the prerequisites checker is still there with the warning that my OS is incompatible. Do i miss something ?

As General Information from: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1486772 :

"When you install or copy your SAP system on Windows Server 2008 R2, and the SAPinst Prerequisite Checker shows a warning that your operating system version is not supported, ignore this warning."

so this is what i did. I replaced the kernel, skiped the prereqisites checker. But no i stuck again in the same error.

Try to restart your server and start installation again.

SAPnotes says:

"Windows Server 2008: Error when creating SAPstart service

When you install the SAP system with SAPinst on Windows Server 2008, you might get an error that the step to create the sapstart service sapstartsrv.exe was executed with status ERROR. If so, retry the installation step in SAPinst. If the problem persists, open a customer service message under BC-INS-NT."

Hi Aleh,

i resolved the issue. I found this [link|; and i disabled my firewall.

But now i get the next error message. My installation is Phase 37 of 45 "Running phase Create Java users" and this is my log file.

the problem is now solved. I made some mistakes as i tired to replace the kernel.
