anyone use OPTIMIZER_USE_SQL_PLAN_BASELINES in Oracle 11g?

Hello,

Does anyone have this parameter set to TRUE in their production environment? Has anyone used this approach in SAP environment? By default it is turned off in Oracle 11g but seems very logical and useful. Just wanted some opinions before I go test it.

Hi,

As I checked on the system, its default value is "true", already.

Sorry. This parameter is set to true, but are you using any baselines? is the parameter optimizer_capture_sql_plan_baselines set to true?

Hi,

Yes, I actived this parameter previously, for the testing reasons, but couldn't see any dramatic performance gain. As far as I understand that it is giving you ability to manual controlling to choose execution plan by CBO.

Additionally, it is not recommended by SAP, yet
