Hi All,

Is it advisable for the SAP Content Server & Trex to be installed on the same server?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Dear Neil,

If you are actually implementeing this architecture at clients place, then it should be implemented even if client insist.

I was also in same situation. But I strongly apposed this requirement.

If you want to used this Architechture for trail purpose or demo where you dont have option of having the luxury of hardware.

Then you can try such thing.

With Warm Regards

Hi,

Depending on the situation a decision is to be taken. Some times when hardware is constraint we are forced to install multiple servers in the same hard ware but it is always recommended to go for separate servers considering downtime , disaster recovery, speed and many other issues. If situation is that you have no alternative hardware risk is to be taken to install two servers in one hardware with no guarantee of data recovery if any thing happens.

Agree with Krupa Kiran!! Plus, the architecture that you have designed(single content server/mult-content server/content-cache server) would also have significant bearing on your decision.
