Hi Experts,

Note1173954 states "minumum recommended WIndows OS: Windows2008 Server".

I'd like to know the case if I choose Windows2003, the system is supported or not?

  • Surerly, I have already asked SAP.

If there is any case that run Windows2003 VMware + Oracle,

please tell me.

Also I want the information ,any problems& SAP's support attitude

Best Regards

Toshi

Earlier I think the oracle wasn't supported on VMware by SAP and it started just in recent times (specially for production), so testing might have been done only for Win2008/Win2008R2 as nowadays the recommended latest windows platform is Win2008R2. SAP will confirm you more on this.

If you are going for new installation, you should choose Win2008R2 instead of Win2003 as all new SAP releases are recommended to be installed on this version.

Thanks

Thank you for quick reply.

Of course ,I know SAP recommend Windows2008.

But if SAP doesn't support Windows2003-VMware-Oracle10 or 11,

we will not choose VMware or Hyper-V.

Because we can't select WIndows2003 an MSSQL

due to critical problem.

Hello,

Any specific reason you want to go for only Windows 2003 ?

We recently implemented SAP on virtual Windows 2008 R2 but it was with MS SQL Server 2008 R2.

Thanks

Our Tivoli doesn't run Windows2008, because Tivoli version is old.

And for my customer SAP system is just sub-system,

and Tivoli runs the other non-sap system.

Therefore they never don't choose Windows2008,

because for them Tivoli is critical term.

If Tivoli is so critical I suggest they update to a recent version. I would not implement new systems on an operating system that's almost 10 years old.
