Hi Experts,

I am facing a problem while I am trying to add database in Database Manager.

The error message dialog pops up "-4 Communication broken [not ok]".

xserver is running.

The log xserver_hostname.prt

Your permissions for the database files are not correct.

Did you (or someone else) did a chmod -Rf 777 on the /sapdb directory?

Hi Markus,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I could see 777 is there for almost all the files.

Somebody might have issued the command and the server is running without any problems.

I corrected the permissions for dbmsrv and sdbstarter.

I shall come back to you after changing permissions by comparing them with some other server.
