BOBJ 4.0 question

Hello, I thought that Information design tool replaced what it used to be called Universe Designer in 4.0 version in which we created universes but someone told me that 4.0 comes with both info design tool and universe design, is that true? if so what is the difference? Thanks.

Both are indeed included. IDT has new features and should be used where possible. The "classic" designer is more for legacy support.

Hi,

well, that decision is entirely yours!

the facts:

- all the new enhancements & functionality are delivered to the .UNX universe (via IDT)

- the .unv universe remains exactly the same in 4.0, mainly to facilitate adoption of the new product and to ease migration.

- You can convert UNV into UNX (but not BW OLAP unv)
