Hello All,
I have an ECC 6.0 Ides system which is not coming up.
Here are the relevant logs:
Event Viewer:
Failed to update service environment from user (.\ec6adm) environment. [ntservmgr.cpp 223]
DEV_MS:
ERROR => MsSClientHandle: no server provides service ENQ (4), requested from ctsgvcsap3_EC6_00 [msxxserv.c 4693]
DEV_W20
X *** Error 11 while initializing OS dependent part.
M *** ERROR => DpEmInit: EmInit (1) [dpxxdisp.c 10362]
M *** ERROR => DpMemInit: DpEmInit (-1) [dpxxdisp.c 10287]
M *** DP_FATAL_ERROR => DpSapEnvInit: DpMemInit
The event viewer log points to "hostname related erro" and the work process logs points to a virtual memory issue.
So unable to find the root cause.
Please suggest.
Thanks and Regards,
Ankit Mishra
Hello,
Please update the Kernel to latest to fix the issue.
Hope this helps

Hi Kishan,
Page file is close to 35GB and PHYS_MEMSIZE is 2048 MB
I have increased PHYS_MEMSIZE t0 4096Mb and tried restarting the SAP system but no luck.
The error in the event viewer "Failed to update service environment from user (.\ec6adm) environment. [ntservmgr.cpp 223]"
Thanks and Regards,
Ankit Mishra
Hi Kishan,
have increased the page file size to 41 Gb. But system could not come up.
I am not very sure, how much can i increase the page file size.
On one of the drives we have 54Gb space availabe, I have made page file size as 14Gb. Let me know, If I can increase more or not.
Thanks and Regards,
Ankit Mishra
One more update:
Just before the below error logged in event viewer:
"Failed to update service environment from user (.\ec6adm) environment. [ntservmgr.cpp 223] "
There was this error:
Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. ). Group Policy processing aborted.
(this error was just once)
And,
1.Spool / print: Spool is Full (this was just once)
2. SAP Basis System: Run-time error "SPOOL_INTERNAL_ERROR" occurred (may times)
Can these error be the root cause of the issue.
Regards,
Ankit Mishra
Hi Ankit,
As per recommendation: https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/84/7ed384d81f11d188be0000e83539c3/content.htm
The page file should ideally be 3 or 4 times main memory size(RAM). So you can increase the page file upto this limit, ofcourse you need to have the corresponding disk space free too in your hard disk.
Regards,
Srikishan
Hello All,
The paging file was increased substanically. there was an issue with the size of the tablespace PSAPSR3. After having added the datafiles, the error still persists.

Hello All,
The issue got resolved by following out the below recommendations:
1.Add the 3GB option to the boot.ini.
2.441663 USING > 3 GB of memory for Oracle on WINDOWS platforms
Setting the DB parmeter USE_INDIRECT_DATA_BUFFERS=TRUE
Removing the parameter db_cache_size as mentioned in step 4 of the note.
The error was:
X *** ERROR => <EsNT> Block 82/512 VirtualAlloc error=487 [esnti.c
There seems to be a fragmentation problem with your system. As there is
not enough adress available for the extended memory:
VirtualAlloc error= 487
487=Attempt to access invalid address
Thanks and Regards,
