Blocking a material in storage type:

Hello Gurus,

I would like to know if there is an option to block a material in a particular storage type.

I know we can set deletion flag in MM06 but this never stops you from creating / transferring stocks into that storage type.

The Problem is when i set deletion flag for the material in that storage type, still Transfer requirments & transfer orders are generated

when i run LP21.Any idea how to control this

There is no blocking option in SAP, but you can clear all the field values specific to Storage type like,

Storage bin Picking area

Maximum bin quantity Control quantity

Minimum bin quantity Replenishment qty

Rounding qty

So when you run LP21, system will not create any TR.

If the intention is to ensure that for the material no TR and TOs are created across the warehouse. (not storage type specific)

You can try using the plant material status

Configure a new plant specific material status

Logistic general -> material status ->settings for key fields ->Define material status

In the status details you have the option to throw an error message whenever a TR or a TO is created

Assign the status to the material master.
