Forecasting in demand planning

Hi all,

in our business ( car manuafacturer) we thought of using following funtionalities of DP

1) Traditional forecasting with BW charecteristics

2) CBF ( charecteristic based forecasting)

3) DP BOM scenarios

Now , i am planning to use all in one MPOS...!!!!!!

1) Is it possible to use all above scenarios with one common MPOS?

2) Whats SAP recommendation?

3) what are the advantages & disadvantages ?

4) what are the things i need to keep in mind?

DP BOM's and CBF cannot be used in the same POS.

Hi Rishi ,

Thanks , but in MPOS settings level it allowing me to select both DP-BOM & CBF .

If thats the case.. where we will face issue?

is there any technical reason behind this?

how the real time projects are working , if we want to work with all the functionaltits of DP?

Basis planning object structure:

A combination of DP BOMS and characteristics-based forecasting (CBF) is not possible.

This note is a bit old (2005), so maybe things have changed since then. But I you suggest that you test thoroughly.
