Interchangebility using Supersession Chain having diff factors of pre & suc

Hi Experts,

We want to used the Interchangebility functionality during SNP Heuristics.

We will be using the Supersession Chain for the same purpose.

The standard procedure is working for us but if we maintain different factors of Predecessor Product & Successor Product (like 1 qty if Pre product to be replaced by 2 Qty of Succ product), the same is not working.

Is there any additional setting we need to maintain to get this work?

Your views on this issue are highly appreciated.

Thanks for looking into..

Regards

Jay

Hi Jay,

I'm not sure whether this field will be recognized during the heuristics run.

This is mainly used during the history realignment.

Siva.

Hi Siva,

Thanks for your valuable inputs.

Is it somewhere notified by SAP that Product Interchangebility will work as 1:1 only during SNP Heuristics or RBA?

As per the help on Preceeding Factor, its possible to replace X quantity of preceeding product by Y quantity of succeding product.

Preceding Quantity Factor

Specifies the quantity of the predecessor product. The value is always displayed using the base unit of measure set for both the predecessor and successor products. Preceding Quantity Factor at a relation is always represented in terms of whole numbers. The value of 1 is used as default for the Preceding Quantity Factor.

_+For example, a chain like A --> B where 2 pieces of the preceding product A are replaced with 4 pieces of the succeeding product B, so both the Preceding Quantity Factor and the Succeeding Quantity Factor (2A and 4B) need to be maintained while creating the chain.

Is there any other way to achieve the objective? Coz, as per your reply, it wont be possible thr IC group?

Thanks for looking into the issue!

Regards

Jay

Take a look at OSS notes for Release restrictions for the SCM version you are using - (OSS note 1284461 for SCM 7.0, for example)-

-

Interchangeability: General Restrictions

Interchangeability cannot be used in conjunction with configurable products (neither CBF nor CDP). Parallel discontinuation in which several products are discontinued dependent on another is not supported. Only 1:1 relations/substitutions are supported. Complex product interchangeability of the form 1:M (where 1 product can be substituted by several other products), N:1 or N:M is not supported. In the master data maintenance (ta incmd/ui) you have the possibility to maintain succeeding and preceding quantity factors for an interchangeability group. All applications in SCM 2007 do not support this functionality. The use of assemblies in interchangeability groups is not supported.

Only 1:1 chains are supported.
