Hi,

I tried to configure NWBC for the first time and i am having problem at the login configuration on the URL. I am not sure what is the correct URL i should put here. I followed the guide on http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp2ru/helpdata/en/31/8dd113b8ba4832aeaafb4b756e1eed/frameset.htm and read through sap note 900000 but still cannot get this URL resolve.

If can, please provide me step by step on how to obtain the information on the URL syntax as provided the in the configuration guide

http(s)://<server>.<domain>.<ext>:<port>/<path>

Thank you

Hello all

Have successfully resolved the URL definition problem here.

Step 1

Run transaction SMICM pressed shift + f1

Step 2

Took the Host Name (for me abb31gtb.gasd-atos.l) and the Service Name/Port 8032. Belonging to the Line with protocal = HTTP.

Step 3

Converted to URL like this http://abb31gtb.gasd-atos.local:8032/sap/bc/nwbc

- Note that the .l have been replaced with .local

- This is also visible if you get the details for the HTTP line

Dear experts,

I can launch NWBC from SAP GUI, using the transaction code NWBC. A new IE window is opened, and user session is passed over.

However I cannot log on via NWBC. When I enter the URL http://<host_name_full>:<http port>/sap/bc/nwbc/nwbc_launch manually, I get the following error message:

500 SAP Internal Server Error

ERROR: Secure Storage: Error in RSEC (termination: ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE)

Any idea, how to fix it?

Hi,

Pls run Transaction SECSTORE and check contents of Secure Storage settings.

Hope this helps

Hi,

did you find a solution to your problem? I have stumbled across the same one i think.

If i test the Service i get the same Error, but if i just use host:port/nwbc in my url it does open something that looks like the business client. I am not able to change my theme there tho.

Regards,

Karl

EDIT

I found a solution for my problem. By redirecting the transaction /nwbc from /bc/nwbc to /bc/ui2/nwbc i managed to get the client with my theme. Now my only problem is that i cant upload an image as background. When i upload one once i publish it it disappears.

Hi,

The URL should ideally be:

http://<fully qualified host name>:<http port>/sap/bc/nwbc/nwbc_launch.

But if you run the transaction 'nwbc' from the SAPGui, that should automatically open up this link. What is the error you get while opening this link?

To find the fully qualified domain name and http port details:

- goto tcode smicm

- click services icon or shift+f1, here http port number is shown

- goto -> parameters -> display -> check icm/host_name_full, here the fqdn is shown

hi Srikishan,

I followed your step and manager to find the http and host_name_full but when i put that in the NWBC login configuration, it shows there URL is invalid. Below is the detail i put in the NWBC login configuration

Name: test

URL : http://<host_name_full>:<http port>/sap/bc/nwbc/nwbc_launch

Type: ABAP

Client; 400

Language : EN

SAP logon system: test

comment : <blank>

Please advice where i should do to make this work

Thank you

Hi,

Two things:

- What happens if you go to SICF -> service 'nwbc_lauch' -> Right Click 'Test'.

- What happens when you directly run the transaction: nwbc

Let me know the error message you get from either of the above.

Hi Srikishan,

I mostly have miss out some setting.

When i run the transaction nwbc, error "transaction nwbc does not exist"

When i go to SICF, i only can see hierarchy type: service n the rest is all empty and i dont see any service 'nwbc_lauch' .

Please advice what i am missing here.

Thank you

Hi,

Sorry for typo, the name of service should be 'nwbc_launch'.

However, as you say the tcode nwbc does not exist, you have to check the Netweaver Release and SP level in the system.

From the SAPGui -> System -> Status.

What is the 'Component Version' under System Data?

Under the Component version, click the icon for component information, here what is SP level of netweaver components?

Transaction nwbc is available only from the Netweaver 7.0 EhP2 release onwards.

Hi Srikishan,

I cannot find the SP level of netweaver components as per your advice but i find something similar, but not sure is it what you want. Please see the information below

component version is SAP ECC 6.0

under system component information

Software name: SAP_BW

Release: 700

Level: 0019

Hihghest Support package: SAPKW70019

Description: SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0

Does this mean i cannot use NWBC?

What i should do to and how i do it. Please advice

Thank you

Hi,

Follow this link for installing/configuring and using the NWBC 1.0 (for NW 7.0 release)

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60/helpdata/en/44/a22c96a40874a2e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm

In previous releases, the NWBC is more like a front end tool (like SAPGui) which needs to be installed on the client desktop and then should be configured to connect to the SAP ERP system.

Hi Rajesh,

In my case, when I run NWBC, it appears to try to do SSO, and I'm not able to force the NWBC transaction to open the cockpit.

I'm unfamiliar with SSO config and was wondering if you had any clues on how to address it.

Thanks,

Santosh
