Hi
I have a few systems in 3 different landscapes but they are not mapped to a central SLD.
My question is, can i used the LMDB to manually map all the separate SLD together skipping the step to configure a central SLD in solution manager 7.1?
Or must i configure a local SLD in solution manager 7.1 in order to syn to LMDB?
Thks for all advise
Regards
Gary

I also suggest to use a local SLD. You may use the data supplier option in your central SLD to fill your dev system.

Pls advise. Thks

Hello Gary,
You can use this article as a guide, though it is specifically setting up the central SLD on an XI system.
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/ConfiguringCentralSLD
This System Landscape Directory setup guide is also useful https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000074392009E
Specificallly to Netweaver, you may find the help link helpful too!

Hi
SAP recommendation is LMDB should sync with one SLD, if that too their recommendation would be REMOTE SLD, since local SLD in solman is 7.0
please check this from http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm71_sp01/helpdata/en/3a/0f2676ccb4413b9fee695e126cde24/frameset.htm
SLD Version 7.1 and higher provides optimum conditions for the synchronization.
Because the local SLD in Solution Manager has Version 7.0,
we recommend that you use a remote SLD.
All of the landscape data should be consolidated in this remote SLD.
Ideally, all of the systems in the landscape should register directly in the remote SLD.
If this is not possible, the LMDB has to synchronize with several SLDs. Several SLDs,
however, can contain conflicting data.
The contents of the LMDB depend on the sequence of changes in the various SLD systems.
Even if the procedure is clearly defined, troubleshooting conflicts
involving multiple SLDs can be complex.
For this reason, we recommend that you use one SLD to supply the LMDB.
Thanks,
Jansi
